5 August, 2020

Congrats on your engagement!!!

You just decided to have a Destination Wedding in México! Now what?

A destination wedding is a great option because you can celebrate your big day in a very special place and enjoy a vacation with your closest family and friends.

It will be the trip of a lifetime!

Traveling with a big group may cause some stress since there is a lot of extra planning and expense.

So we've decided to share some of our expert knowledge to help you to mind budget in a classy and practical way.

We hope you find these planningand budget-conscious tips helpful!

1.-PRIORITIZE

What should not be missing at your wedding?

Focus on the things that you absolutely love and must have and make a list. That way it will be easier to remember everything without missing any important details.

2.-ASK FRIENDS FOR HELP

We always have a friend or two willing to offer their talents to help you have the destination wedding of your dreams. Maybe you have a talented artist in the group that can help you get some beautiful designs, make them your cost-free source, for example, assign the place cards to the one who has nice handwriting.

3.-THINK ABOUT YOUR GUEST LIST

It's really important to decide whom you are going to invite. I recommend you skip the people who are not really close to you. Remember that some of your guests probably have a formal couple who you must invite getting you to double your guest list.

4.- THE WEDDING PARTY

Choose who gets to be part of the wedding party carefully, maybe having just a couple on each side is more than enough. Remember that a smaller wedding party will help you to save some money in bouquets, favors, transportation, etc.

5.- LOW SEASON? WHY NOT!

Yes, I know, we all love Spring and Autumn weddings in the Caribbean but choosing low season will help you find lower rates in hotels, venues, vendors, etc.

6.- HIRE AN EXPERT

If you feel overwhelmed, hiring a wedding planner can help you narrow down the planning process to simple steps. Professional wedding planners have seen it all! Trust us. So take advantage of this experienceand knowledge of the area, and their cultivated relationships with the area’s wedding vendors! A planner will help you narrow down vendor options to fit your particular wedding style and personality so you get the best fit possible!

7- DON´T BE AFRAID OF Technology

Tech is your friend! Go green and save paper on wedding invites. You can have a simple website made to share the details of the trip, costs, flights, hotels and even travel activities such as tours. They are also a great for guests to RSVP easily

8.- Take advantage of locally SOURCED products.

The Mayan Riviera has many amazing local fruits and beautiful tropical flowers, stay seasonal and local. Why not have an exotic and fresh beverage for your toast?

You can also give out local product baskets as favors. The whole region is full of delicious natural honey and great skin products that your guests will probably love.

9.- CHOOSE AN ELEGANT AND SIMPLE DECORATION

This is where the concept of less is more comes in handy. Minimalist wedding styles are elegant by nature and are becoming more and more popular.

10.- HOME-MADE WITH LOVE!

Your guests will always appreciate the work and details you put into homemade favors. Also it's a great way to shave a couple of bucks off your wedding expenses.

There are so many ways to have an amazing Destination Wedding without going bankrupt.

We will continue to keep on sharing helpful tips and advice for a perfect destination wedding in Mexico’s beautiful Riviera Maya.
